3.1. Measuring setup

An S7 controller (sending station) simultaneously sends data once to one or several S7 controllers (receiving stations).

The following performance data are measured:

• Transmission time
• Cycle time sending station and receiving station

The measurement takes place under the following boundary conditions:

• The communication program in the sending station and in the receiving station is called cyclically in OB1 of the S7 controller.
• For each receiving station precisely one connection is established.
• A complete data block is sent with one call.
• Source and target of the data are located in one data block.

The following figure shows the principle of the measuring setup. Components (e.g. I/O modules) and signals (e.g. ready signals) used only for performing the measurement are not displayed.
